School Office Hours
Student safety at Montague School is our highest priority and the safe and appropriate supervision of students is an important element of our duty of care to students. Part of this duty is ensuring parents and students are aware of our student supervision arrangements before and after school.
- Before school: School Breakfast Club supervision begins at 8:00am.
- After school: School grounds are supervised until 3:30pm.
Students on school grounds outside these times will not be supervised (unless they are attending a before or after school care program or supervised extracurricular activity).
Parents/carers are requested to ensure that students do not attend school outside of these supervised times unless they are attending before or after school care, or a pre-arranged supervised activity (i.e. sports practice).
Families are encouraged to contact the school on 9690 3535 for more information about the before and after school care facilities available to our school community or if you would like any further information about our student supervision arrangements.
For a copy of our school’s Yard Duty and Supervision Policy please contact the school office. This policy includes Montague School’s student supervision arrangements across the school day, including before and after school.
For urgent matters out of school hours please leave a message on the school phone 9690 3535 or email montague.ec@education.vic.gov.au

Student Arrival and Departure Tracking
Students are required to sign in and sign out each day using the Compass Kiosk located in the reception area. Upon arriving at school, students must first sign in by entering their student credentials into the Compass Kiosk. This records their attendance and indicates they have arrived on school grounds. At the end of the school day, students must sign out using the same process to mark their departure.
*Please note, students are not permitted to leave school grounds during the day, unless it is for an organised activity supervised by school staff.
These procedures ensure the safety, supervision, and wellbeing of all students, in line with our Duty of Care and adherence to Child Safe Standards.
